Going Beyond the Mind

Beyond the Mind offers an experiential and didactic training in the use of somatic/nervous system reprocessing techniques with ketamine and cannabis for healing trauma and attachment wounds.

This small, cohort style training only accepts 8-10 participants in order to ensure personal attention & observation throughout the training & consultation.


Knowledge and competence in the Trauma Integration Protocol (TIP) model, created by Dr. Eric Wolterstorff out of Peter Levine’s work, for use with or without ketamine/cannabis

What do I get with this training program?

73 hours of content in a small group cohort including didactic and experiential learning of theory and technique

Addresses safety and areas of concern in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy

9 hours of ongoing remote consultation over 6 months post-training

Includes how to assess client readiness, the who, when, and the how to use ketamine/cannabis as a therapeutic tool

Personal experience with ketamine and/or cannabis from the role of client & therapist

Promotes engagement by participants to develop self-as-therapist through ongoing personal work and self-reflection

Access to advanced trainings, retreats, and a community of like-minded practitioners

Confidence to begin safely and effectively working with ketamine and cannabis as elements of psychotherapy and tools in trauma processing

Includes introductory training in parts work and the use of transferential roles in working with complex trauma

Upon successful completion of consultation, you receive a certificate of completion, optional website listing for providers, recommendations for how to access a prescriber for ketamine

  • This in-person intensive training takes place in a home in Coal Creek Canyon, Golden Colorado.

    Coal Creek Canyon is approximately:

    - 45 minutes from Denver, CO

    -25 minutes from Boulder, CO

    -25 minutes from Golden, CO

    -1 hour from the Denver international Airport

  • $3500

    o 3310 tuition, $40 Eric Wolterstorff manual, $150 ketamine experiential & practice (optional)

    Deposit required $500 (deposit is non-refundable 30 days prior to the start of the course)

    Total remainder of tuition is due on the first day of the training unless otherwise discussed

  • This training is created for Masters level counselors/therapists/social workers (or above), pre- or post-licensure *

    o The assumption is that participants have some education and experience in the field of psychotherapy and trauma

    However, some exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis, such as:

    o Students in their Masters programs who have completed or are currently enrolled in an internship

    o Healing professionals in non-psychotherapy fields

    o Psychiatric or medical practitioners

    *This training is targeted for psychotherapists & professionals in Colorado. Exceptions may be made for out of state participants on a case-by-case basis.

  • Attendance at all of the training weekends

    o Missed time must be pre-approved and will likely include makeup work; due to the experiential nature of this work, it is not recommended; make-up work may include additional costs if private meetings with the trainers are needed to ensure you are able to catch up

    Willingness to experience both somatic work as well as ketamine and/or cannabis from role of client

    Desire to learn and grow both professionally and personally by encountering your own edges, limitations, and shadows

    Ability to hear and integrate constructive feedback.

    To practice the techniques taught outside of the training environment with peers prior to working with clients

    o Consultation will be required upon completion of the training weekends

    o Practice trades will be required between training weekends and throughout follow-up consultation

    Willingness to engage in some vulnerability together with a small cohort of peers

    To complete any assigned supplemental readings, makeup work, and/or additional meetings with the trainers if needed to ensure competency

  • Immediately: foundational concepts and techniques from the somatic protocol e.g., nervous system map, boundary-work, resourcing, & stress containment

    Upon successful completion of post-training consultation & required practice hours: TIP model with trauma/dissociation; use of ketamine / cannabis with clients

  • This training is generally meant for therapists & professionals in Colorado, as the legality of ketamine and cannabis use in psychotherapy settings outside of Colorado will not be addressed

    This training is not meant to prepare participants to utilize any psychedelic substances other than prescribed ketamine or cannabis

Meet the Trainers

Both Parad and Trevor have completed extensive trainings including: Somatic Trauma Therapy (Trauma Integration Protocol I & II); EMDR; Cognitive-processing therapy (CPT); Trauma-focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); The Progressive Approach; Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT); Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); Gestalt Therapy and more. Both Parad & Trevor carry a strong working knowledge of parts work models such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), The Structural Dissociation Model, and The Progressive Approach. They include elements of these various trainings as components for safe and effective work with trauma and psychedelics. Combined they have facilitated thousands of hours of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.

  • o Has worked in clinical professional roles since 2003; graduated 2009 with her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in trauma; completed her PhD in 2022 in Counseling Psychology and Transformative Leadership.

    o Began working with psychedelic-assisted therapy in 2015.

    o Previously trained in Eric Wolterstorff’s model “Trauma Dynamics Level 1” 2014 to 2018 as a TA and then lead trainer.

    o Uses an integrated somatic approach in her trauma-focused private practice utilizing ketamine and cannabis.

    o Has over a decade of experience as supervisor and clinician in community mental health settings for trauma and addiction.


  • o Graduated 2015 from Naropa University in Boulder with Master’s degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy.

    o Developed interest in combination of psychedelic substance and somatic psychotherapy in 2013 through experiences with ayahuasca.

    o Has worked intensively with trauma since 2015 in community mental health, a psychedelic therapy clinic, and private practice.

    o Learned “Trauma Dynamics Level 1” in 2016 and has incorporated this as a primary map and model with clients ever since.

    o Has led clients in over 3000 hours of psychedelic-assisted therapy since 2017, working across the range of personal growth to severe trauma and structural dissociation.
